I can’t believe I am just now writing this update that should have been sent months ago , but Zoe is here! Praise the Lord, she was born without complications on December 11 weighing 8 lbs. 2 oz.!

She is growing lots and getting used to ministry life. The first Sundays going to the batey with her in January and February were exhausting, particularly because the drive is long, but thankfully she has now gotten used to being in the car.

 Bible Study

Now that Zoe can be entertained and can go longer stretches between feeding and naps, I am working to start our women’s Bible study up again.  We haven’t been meeting since November, and the ladies are ready to get back to it! For now, I am planning to do bi-weekly studies until she is a little bigger.

On May 9, we will be hosting an evangelistic service in Haitian Creole in Concho Primo for the Haitian women.  A friend of mine from our local church speaks Creole and will be translating for me.  Our purpose for this meeting is three fold: 1) to share the Gospel to needy souls, 2) to make a deeper connection with these women who come to church regularly but do not understand much Spanish, 3) to work with our women on the essential elements of evangelism.

Men’s Bible Study

Meanwhile the men have continued to study weekly with Francis and Richard taking turns teaching. We are grateful for 5 men that are very committed and eager to grow and for the other 4 who come fairly regularly. We are still praying that we might see the husbands of some of our ladies come to Christ and see whole families changed by God’s love and grace.

Salvation!

Recently, we were able to witness the Lord working in the life of Cesar’s stepson, Cristofer. Cristofer lives in the city of San Pedro but has come to church off and on whenever he visits family in Los Rijos.  Though we had shared the Gospel numerous times, he was choosing instead to follow a dangerous path for his life.  By God’s grace, Cristofer recognized his need for change that only God can bring about and came ready to give his life to Christ on Easter Sunday! Pray for his growth. Since he doesn’t live in the batey and doesn’t have a cell phone, connecting and following up with him has proved to be complicated. Pray that we can find a church near him that will take him under their wing and provide the community he desperately needs.

Praises and Prayer Requests

  • Zoe - healthy and growing and adapting to ministry life!

  • We had the privilege of witnessing the Lord answer Ramona’s prayers for her family in saving two of her adult sons! (They are not currently living in our community, pray for them to get rooted in a local church near them)

  • Cristofer’s salvation! (Also not living in our community - pray that we can get him connected to a local church)

  • Camp Meeting! Our local church (the one Richard grew up in), will be hosting an evangelistic camp meeting on Saturday, May 4th.  We are excited to finally be able to connect our two church families and look forward to seeing how the Lord might further develop this fellowship in the future.

  • Evangelistic service in Haitian Creole in Concho Primo for the Haitian women that regularly come to church but do not understand much Spanish on May 9th
