Good morning,
I recently returned from an incredible ten-day trip to Southeast Asia, where I had the privilege of spending time in two of the largest cities in the region. During my visit, I met with underground church leaders, visited one of their churches, and spent three days training 55 pastors from the Hmong, Dao, and Kinh people groups.
Throughout our time together, we focused on understanding the spiritual needs of communities and people who have little or no access to the Gospel. We mapped out those needs, identified opportunities, and prayerfully considered what it would take to see churches strengthened and new communities reached. At the conclusion of our training, each pastor identified three significant steps they would commit to taking over the next four years to advance the Gospel in their region.
What happened next was incredibly encouraging. Together, these 55 pastors prayerfully set a vision before the Lord to reach 686 new communities with the Gospel over the next four years! Think about that. Fifty-five local pastors, deeply committed to their people, their churches, and the Great Commission, asking God to use them to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to hundreds of communities.
This is why I believe so strongly in investing in local church leaders. When we equip and empower pastors who already know the language, understand the culture, and love their communities, the potential for Gospel multiplication is tremendous.
These are not just numbers on a map. Each community represents people and families who need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Would you join me in praying for these 55 pastors and the 686 communities they are trusting God to reach?
The Great Commission is far from finished, and what a privilege it is to have a small part in what God is doing among the nations!
